How to pay for your kids college if you’ve gone through all of your savings

When you got married, you thought you had it all planned out. You both had good jobs and your salaries and savings plans were going to be enough to pay for your kids’ college education as well as your retirement. But, then, life happened! College is upon you and you’ve gone through everything. Do you tell your kids they can’t go to college or do you take out student loans and make them pay for it when they graduate? Or, do you figure out another way to make enough money to be able to pay for it after all?

Sound familiar? I never thought it would happen to me but it did and it was due to me losing my technology job 15 years ago. At the time, my 2 kids were still little so I made the decision not to go back to work full time and to go work with my husband (for free) to help him grow his insurance practice so we could make up for my lost salary. It didn’t take me long to realize two things: 1) I don’t like working in the insurance industry, and 2) my husband and I cannot work together! It was the latter of those two things that made me decide that I needed to find my own way to make money (preferably from home). So, I went on a mission to find that perfect home based business that would allow me to earn enough money.

After three network marketing companies (one of which I’m still, technically, a distributor because of the residual income) and ten years of feeling very uncomfortable at every social event where I wasn’t going to bring up my business to everyone around me, just to say that I tried, I was starting to see some success. This was due to a couple of distributors on my team who were driven to succeed. The major problem was that when they quit, my business died. So, I went online to figure out how to meet people who were interested in meeting me, in order to have them join my team and what I found out there was a whole new world of affiliate marketing.

With affiliate marketing, you don’t rely on other people to make you successful. It’s still a relationship based business, but your income depends on your actions and not on your team members actions. Don’t get me wrong…you make a little bit of income whenever your affiliates sell something, but it’s not a major part of your income.

The income with affiliate marketing can be a lot higher than with direct sales and network marketing companies too. If your goal is to make $10,000 a month, wouldn’t it be easier to sell ten $1,000 products than one hundred $100 products? The key here is to find a high ticket affiliate program that will pay you handsomely for your efforts.

Sure, you can sell products from affiliate programs like Clickbank and JVZoo but their commissions are very small. Over the last several years, I searched for a company that not only had the training and mentorship that I was looking for, but the commissions that would make my time worth it. I found lots of scams and companies that didn’t deliver on their promises, but I ultimately found the one that will allow me to finally find peace of mind and allow me to dream big again for my retirement.

Getting back to the title of this blog post, even before you can dream big about your retirement, you’ll have to deal with the cost of college for your kids. Yikes! It’s so expensive and if you don’t have at least $100,000 set aside for each kid, you’ll be struggling to pay the tuition bills every semester. But, with a system like the one I’ve found, that struggle will become a pleasure. The most important thing to look for in a way to make money from home is the company’s leadership and mentorship. Without those two things, it will be exponentially harder to figure out the whole online business thing on your own. The system/company that I have aligned myself with has both a wonderful, “in the trenches” leader AND they provide you with a personal coach to walk you through all the steps to success.

I invite you to check out the company and the system that I love. It will be great to meet you and, hopefully, to see you on the beaches of the world and hear your success story about how you were able to pay for your kids’ college education in cash!

To your success,
