How To Use Social Media For Your Home Based Business – Part 1

Facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedin

This week, I will be doing a 5 part video series on how to use social media for your home based business.  So, UNLEARN EVERYTHING that you’ve learned so far…

This series starts with where you need to start even before you pick a social media platform to a description and little tutorial on each plaform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest) to tools and strategies on each one to take you online.

So, let’s start here

The most important message to get from this is that you really need to figure out what your message is and then pick the one social media platform that you resonate with. For me, it’s Facebook.  For you, it might be Twitter or Instagram…I can’t tell you which one to use.  I’ll show you how to use each one and even lead you to lots of detailed training programs so you can learn the ones you like.

Most importantly, though, it that whatever platform you choose, treat social media like an in-person networking event or social gathering. You wouldn’t walk up to someone in person and say “Hi my name is Jane Doe and you need to click on this link and buy my stuff”, right? No…you would say “Hi, how are you?” and then start a conversation to learn about the other person.

This business is a relationship business, so get really good at building relationships, making friends, and having fun!  Because, if it’s fun it won’t feel like work.

I hope you enjoy this series. Please leave me comments below and let me know what questions you have so I can help you. What’s your biggest struggle with your online marketing? How can I help you succeed online for your home based business? I’m listening.

Till tomorrow…

    1. I’m glad you liked it Frances. Thanks for the compliment. It does get easier the more you do videos. But, I have to admit that sometimes it takes a couple tries! See you tomorrow!

  1. Relationship building is so important and I find that easier on Facebook. I spread myself too thin by spending too much time on other networks. So although I do have accounts with quite a few I stick mostly with FB and Twitter.

I look forward to the rest of your series. I usually prefer reading to video but you kept my attention all the way through. Thanks Jan.

Awesome point to pick one social media platform and master that before you move onto the next.

Look forward to your next in the series.
