How Obstacles Can Actually Serve You In Your Home Based Business

As a home based business owner, I’m sure that you have faced many obstacles along the way.  Your spouse tells you you’re crazy for doing one of “those things”, your friends run away from you when you try to tell them about your new business, your upline tells you to make a list of 250 people and have home parties.

YIKES…how did anyone ever succeed in this business?  You know the old saying “Necessity is the mother of invention?” It really applies to our profession too, don’t you think?  What will you do when you talk to the last person in your warm market that will even listen? How do you deal with the negativity that’s all around you?  How will you deal with any obstacle in your way?

Overcoming obstacles will actually make you stronger and you’ll be a great leader!  What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right?!

Do these 4 things to overcome any obstacles:

  1. Surround yourself with the right people.  You know, the ones who have been successful already and who will motivate you to do what they did.  They will feed your mind with positivity and you will always feel like you are successful already with the right people around you.
  2. In order to find people who want to talk to you about your business, hang out in groups of people who are seeking what you have.  This can be done online or offline and if you follow me on Facebook or throughout this blog, you’ll learn all kinds of ways to find the right people.
  3. Personal development is crucial to your success.  Read at least 10 pages of a personal development book or read an article online or listen to audio on self improvement.  You can find tons of books, cds, websites by just Googling the words “personal development” online.  One article that I found is at http://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifestyle/22-killer-personal-development-resources.html.  That will get you started.
  4. Take consistent action every day.  There’s a saying in our profession that is so true and that is “Doubt will cause inactivity and Activity will take you out of doubt”.  We all have those days when we don’t feel like doing anything, but if you don’t do anything, your business will suffer.  I’m speaking from personal experience!

Finally, use your experience of how you’ve overcome obstacles to lead your team.  They will look up to you as their leader and mentor and you’ll be making a positive impact on their lives.

Till next time,
