It’s really important for people in network marketing, affiliate marketing, and direct sales to brand themselves in their marketing. Why? I’m glad you asked!
The answer is simple…what differentiates you from the other thousands of reps/affiliates in the company you’re marketing? Why would someone join you in your business vs. the next person they find online who’s marketing the same company? That next person may have found much more success than you (only because they’ve been in it longer than you) and they may have more credibility. Your job is to figure out what you stand for and against and market yourself based on the product (s) or service (s) you’re promoting.
There are 3 steps to building your brand:
- What do you stand for? I always promote programs and products that I, myself, am using. I would never try to sell anything that I haven’t used and found success with myself.
- What do you stand against? By sharing what you stand against with your audience, you’re building that like, know, and trust factor. This is due to the fact that you’re being totally honest with people. You’ll attract people who are against the same things and repel the people who you probably don’t want on your team anyway.
- Know your audience and what they want to hear from you! Without understanding who your audience is, you may be teaching things that people don’t want to know. It would be like not having a map in a foreign country. How do you know where you’re going unless you know what roads to take? It’s the same thing with your audience…ask them what they want, learn their pains from online forums, Facebook groups where they hang out, or within your own company. You’re most likely the poster child for your own product or service so take a look at yourself and figure out what your co-representatives or affiliates need to learn.
Bottom line…be honest…be different than the rest of the pack…stand out from the crowd…most importantly, be consistent. Daily action using these 3 steps will help you become the success you dream of.
